Aims of the research project

The aim of the project is to develop a method for evaluating knowledge-intensive business processes, on the basis of which measures for process improvement and for increasing competence in handling knowledge can be determined. This is done by further developing existing approaches to maturity assessment and maturity models as well as approaches to the assessment of knowledge-intensive business processes into a maturity model of knowledge-intensive business processes. For this purpose, a dialog-based assessment tool for the self-assessment of SMEs will be developed.

Project results

The research project QMwiGP opens up analysis and assessment possibilities for the handling of knowledge in business processes or knowledge management for small and medium-sized enterprises on the basis of a tool-supported self-assessment. The application areas are product innovation and customer relationship management. The result of the assessment is a positioning of the maturity or performance of the company in the area of investigation as well as the identification of weaknesses. Furthermore, known best practices are presented based on the specific situation of the company, which lead to improvement measures in the companies. A self-assessment tool for measuring knowledge-intensive business processes was developed in close cooperation with SMEs.
